The Houthi rebels are a new version of rebels. They have ballistic missiles. And. Sophisticated drones. This is the growing trend in the military world. And there is suspicion that people like drug cartels can plan to use drones and maybe even space rockets to transport drugs to their customers. Those actors can also use those systems as weapons. 

Maybe. We will see street gangs with drones and missiles quite soon. Drones are very good tools for area surveillance. Street gangs can use them to observe their areas. Drug dealers can use drones to warn them about police. They can also equip drones with shotguns and pistols or explosives. 

Hostile actors can use AI for at least the following things. 

1) Weapon development.

1B) Guidance system development.

1C) Aerodynamic simulations.   

1D) Engine operation simulations. 

1E) Calculations of fuel usage for drone operations.

2B) Analyze target data for weaknesses in their defense. The AI can search for gates. That are badly guarded. 

2C) Install malware on targeted computers. To shut down alarm systems. This kind of malware can open a route for attackers to military bases. It can also affect nuclear security. There is also a possibility. The malware can shut down aircraft carrier defense. 

Or on a larger scale. The malware. It can shut down even strategic nuclear forces. The malware can destroy the codes in databases that are needed for a nuclear attack. It’s possible to restore those databases. But if that happens just before the nuclear attack. Time is needed for that restoration. And in a real situation, there are only a couple of minutes to react. Is this possible? That depends on how safe those systems are. And at this point. We must understand that. Any system in the world involves weaknesses.

Resistants who fight against the USA use Claude AI to target American targets. This is an example of an advance in the world. The hostile actor can use the AI against the nation that hosts it. The fact is that nobody knows what other AI’s are used for drone targeting or cyberattacks. When we think about the hostile use of commercial AIs, we must realize that almost anybody can establish a company in the USA and access those tools. The problem is that the actors who establish the company can be U.S.-born U.S. citizens. And they might not have any visible connections with people like radical Islamists or the FSB. 

The actor. Whom authorities see in front of them. During the company establishment process. Can act for money. They can be drug dealers, and people like drug cartels can introduce them to Iranian intelligence directly. Or they can introduce them to some other hostile intelligence. Then they have to open a VPN connection to Tehran. This means Iranian intelligence and Houthi rebels can use the U.S.-based servers to coordinate their attacks against U.S. warships and other ships.

Maybe. Those actors use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini for their operations. This is the new trend in military and intelligence. Whoever leads the AI wins the game. When we talk about limits for those systems. We forget that some of them are even more dangerous than we expect. China is pushing billions for AI development. The same way North Korea and Iran realized those systems’ potential. 

Those actors can use Western AIs to develop their own LLMs. And that is the thing that we must understand. 

When a cyber spy sits in Tehran, Beijing, or Pyongyang, that person is always under control. Those operators can remotely control drones from their offices. In this case, local actors prepare drones for the operation. They must establish a data connection to those offices. Then those remote operators can start their actions. When. Those people sit in their offices in those countries. They aren’t exposed to dangerous Western ideology. They don’t get information. Their leaders want to hide. 

Those cyber spies need only a native citizen. Who establishes a company in some Western city. Then they need to establish a VPN connection to their servers. That connection allows Chinese (or other) actors to operate on Western servers and AIs.  China might want to entice Western scientists and engineers to do their work on Chinese AIs and servers. This leaks their work to the Chinese military.
