The Russian new ocean floor nuclear missile project is not a new idea.

“Russian efforts to deploy nuclear-armed ballistic missiles in the ocean may have been underway for years and could involve previously unknown methods, according to Western intelligence assessments. This conclusion follows extensive surveillance of Russian operations in the White Sea, a bay of the Arctic. Ocean, reported by German outlet Tagesschau. (UAWire.com, Russia’s secret ocean-floor nuclear missile project raises alarm in the West)

The idea of military bases on the sea floor is not new. Even from WWII. Researchers made plans. And warnings about the military bases, built in the shipwrecks. In some visions, the underwater missile base can be simple. The submarine wreck. There is a submarine that hosts the crew. That operates its nuclear weapons. The submarine can play a wreck. But there are more complicated systems.

In some bad visions, the 100-300 mt. Poseidon torpedo can wait on the seabed for an order to attack. In some other versions of that dark vision, there are nuclear mines on the seafloor waiting for detonation. The mine can wait just under the ocean seafloor slopes. And they can form a landslide. When the order comes. The mine will release its weight. Then it starts to rise to the optimal depth. The optimal depth means that the weapon can send. A devastating tsunami. To hit the coast.

These kinds of weapons are planned to lie at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Or maybe near the coastline of the UK and the U.S.A.

At the end of the Cold War era, there were rumors that the Soviet Union deployed nuclear missiles, or some kind of nuclear missile bases, in the lakes or on the floor of the Baltic Sea. Those nuclear bases could be nuclear missile submarines that are sunken on the ocean floor. The crew of those missile stations would be changed. By using some kind of rescue submarine as a support unit. The crew goes. Through the air lock. That kind of missile base could make.

A surprise attack from the coastline of the USA. Another model is that even large-sized missile tubes can be positioned on the ocean floor. Or the missile silas can be drilled in the sediments. The system can basically host even the large-sized Sarmat missiles. In some models. The remote-controlled torpedo stations or the vehicles that can move on the ocean floor like cars can shoot torpedoes at the bottom of ships and other submarines. In some futuristic visions, the system that transports nuclear weapons can be an underwater hovercraft. That system can slide above the bottom without a trace. Those kinds of systems were predicted in some futuristic novels. And maybe the nuclear weapon silos at the bottom of the ocean already exist.
